Senior Kaleigh Thompson Committed to UCA

Alexis Rudder, Editor

Kaleigh Thompson is a senior on the Lonoke High School Girls’ Basketball team.  Just recently, she has committed to The University of Central Arkansas. She has been playing basketball since first grade when she was around 5-6 years old. When asked what pushed her to get here, Kaleigh said it was for herself, her mother, and her supporters. Her mom inspires her in many ways because she’s faced lots of challenges in her life but always kept going. This gives Kaleigh the reminder that anything is possible.

“The time has finally come! Special thanks to God for blessing me with the talents that I have and the strength to keep going every day. Thank you to my family, especially to my mom and grandma for always believing in me, pushing me, all the money spent on me, all the countless hours on the road to games, practices, and camps. Thank you to all of the coaches that have coached me along this journey especially Coach Brown, Coach Caleb Livingston, Coach Ed, and Coach Swiney. Also, thank you to Coach Chad Gentry for all that you have done for me! You guys have really made me into the player that I am today. To all of my teammates, past, and present, thank you for always being there for me and keeping the game fun. Thank you to all of the coaches that have recruited me the past few years. Thank you all for believing in me. With all of that being said, I am excited to announce my commitment to The University of Arkansas! Thank you, Coach Rushing for this opportunity.”
