LHS EAST Students, Susie Moysh, Cody Amato, and Mason Ford were awarded EAST scholarships on Wednesday April 26. Ford was awarded the Carolynn Mann Memorial Scholarship of $2,500. When being awarded with the scholarship, he explains he was “happy and excited for the opportunity” that EAST gave him. Ford is a 4 year EAST student and says, “EAST has taught me that every problem can be solved when it’s looked at from a different perspective. EAST helps me achieve my goals and become successful by understanding that my community is willing to help, if I ask.” Moysh was also awarded with the Carolynn Mann Memorial Scholarship as well as the EAST Student Scholarship of $1,000. Moysh expresses how thankful she was for the opportunity, “I was emotional and filled with gratitude. I have worked so hard to serve my community and EAST taught me that hard work is worth it.” Through her years in the EAST program she found success knowing that “It’s okay to fail and learn from failure, through that I have been successful because I did not give up.” Congratulations and keep up the good work!
