LHS Swim Travels to Texas for State Championship

On Saturday, February 25th, the Lonoke High School Swim Team traveled to Texarkana, Texas to compete in the 1A-4A State Championship. The students that swam were Cole Krablin (12), Logan Bevis (12), Hunter Newkirk (12), Eli Dolinger (11), Karr Graham (9), and Kanon Canamore (9). While the rabbits did not take first place, Lonoke still impressively placed 8th overall in the state competition.
Many students accomplished great placements in their races. Canamore placed 9th in the 100 Back Race and 5th in the 100 Fly Race. Graham placed 8th in the 200 IM Race and 8th in the 100 Fly Race. Dolinger placed 11th in the 100 Back Race. Krablin placed 11th in the 500 Free Race and 12th in the 200 Free Race. Newkirk placed 11th in the 100 Free while also accomplishing some of the best swim times in his Free and Back Relay Races. Lonoke competed in a few relay races. Rabbits placed 6th in the 200 Medley Relay and 7th in the 200 Free Relay.
Lonoke High School Swim showed all their talent at the state championship. Senior Logan Bevis said, “It was a bittersweet moment. I’ve been swimming for 9 years so I balled my eyes out thinking about this being the end.” Make sure to congratulate the LHS Swim Team on a great season and their awesome representation of Lonoke at state.
