Lonoke High School has announced that cheer tryouts for the 2023-2024 school year are here. The tryout dates will be on March 6th through the 10th at the Lonoke Middle School Gym.  There is also a parent meeting for students in 8th through 11th grade that are interested in trying out. The meeting will be on February 20th at the Lonoke High School Library for senior and junior high girls. Make sure that your parent attends the meeting in order for you to try out as a cheerleader.

A few current cheerleaders had some encouragement for others wishing to try out. Callie Shelton, 10th, advised, “Smile, do your best, and just be yourself.” Fellow sophomore cheerleader, Adison Amato, says to “make sure to stretch every night and to not do full-out jumps until Thursday or Friday” to fully impress judges without tiring yourself out. Everyone interested in trying out for cheer should make sure their parents attend the meeting and show up for tryouts in March.
