Thursday, January 12, 2023, the Lonoke High school hosted its 59th Annual Queen Pageant. The Annual Queen Pageant was hosted in the Gina Cox Center. The purpose of the Annual Queen Pageant is to raise money for the Lonoke High School Journaling Jackrabbits.

Caroline Flynt (11) representing FFA was announced as 4th Runner Up, Makala Mccoy representing Wrestling (12) was announced as 3rd Runner Up, Callie Shelton representing Class Of 2025 (10) was announced as 2nd Runner, and Miss Congeniality, Susie Moysh representing Student Council (12)  was announced as 1st Runner Up, and Alexis Rudder representing Cheer (12) was crowned Queen.

Alexis Rudder exclaimed, “To be crowned felt so surreal. I competed every year I was in high school and it finally paid off. To get my timing right I made sure to practice while someone was reading my script so I know when to move to the next “x” on the stage. My favorite portion of the pageant was formal wear, because everyone got to express themselves through a dress, and everyone looked so pretty! “

Callie Shelton explained, “Being announced as Miss Congeniality felt so special to me because I feel like kindness has a special place in my heart and it has an impact on people.”

The proceeds of the pageant will be used to purchase SD cards and a new mirrorless DSLR camera.

The Journaling Jackrabbit advisor Jenna Brush said, “We are so thankful for our judges, sponsors, contestants, and community supporters who continue to help our program by providing resources for cutting-edge technology for us to continue to produce high-quality journalism in our yearbook and online newspaper publications.”
