3rd Place for the Jackrabbit Swim Team
Lonoke Swim Places 3rd
December 7, 2022
Tuesday, December 6th the Lonoke jackrabbit swim team competed at the NLRHS December Invite. Lonoke placed 3rd out of 8 teams. The meet took place in the Lonoke community center pool where NLR took first followed by Lake Hamilton, then Lonoke. This was a special meet as the Lonoke swim team wore their Christmas caps. This year, the Christmas caps resembled Santa Clause Hats. Coach Laura Denson surprised her swimmer before their warm-up with the new caps exclaiming “Merry Christmas, let’s go swim fast!” Senior Hunter Newkirk competed in the 50 free and the 100 freestyle. He placed 1st in the 50 freestyle and 4th in the 100 freestyle. Hunter exclaimed, “When I finished I didn’t realize I was first! I looked over at the scoreboard to show my lane finished first!” Newkirk feels the team did very well and everyone swam their best race. The Lonoke Jackrabbits are back in the pool on Thursday, November 8th, in Bryant at 5 PM. Come out to support your Lonoke Swim team!
