The LHS Wrestling Team begins preparing for the upcoming wrestling season. This is the first year that Lonoke has brought the sport of wrestling to LHS. Coach Norton stated, ” We’re very excited to get this program started.  I think it’s important to provide as many avenues as possible to get students to participate in extracurricular activities.”  The first Wrestling Match will be held on Monday, December 5th. It will be located at Acorn High School and start at 5:00 p.m. “Wrestling is fun, fast-paced and it allows kids to compete within their weight classes – taking out advantages big schools may have over small schools when it comes to depth and such in a team sport setting,” Coach Norton commented. Lonoke is very excited to bring Wrestling into the district this year. It is a great opportunity to give the students a chance to try something new. Coach Norton finished by saying, ” I think wrestling has a bright future here.  We’re excited to add it as a sport and we’re excited to keep exploring things like eSports and bowling as potential sports in the coming months.” Make sure to catch the upcoming wrestling match!
