Our Lady Rabbits Volleyball Team starts their season off with a strong benefit match against Malvern. While the jackrabbits did not quite win the game, each set was close with a score of 25-23, 23-25 for JV and 23-25, 23-25, and 25-23 for Varsity. The lady rabbits started each set ahead, but tough competition caused a close loss for 3 sets and a win for 2 sets.

The teamwork and chemistry were visible on the court to anyone that had the chance to watch. Tommie Gooden, 10, said, “We’ve been working hard on making sure we know where to go on defense.” Every girl worked hard and hustled for every ball. Jodi Coleman, 12, had multiple great saves and Natalie West, 12, brought all the energy on the court. Junior varsity rabbits are also not a team to underrate! Shakari James, 10, had a strong kill in the second set that caused the whole gym to go wild. Sophomore manager, Tamyah VanBuren, exclaimed, “The improvement from practices to games has been incredible to watch.” The Lonoke High Volleyball Team will definitely be one to watch this fall season.
