Friday, November 12th, 2021, Senior, Lady Rabbit basketball player, Kaleigh Thompson signed to The University of Central Arkansas following her commitment back in August. During the signing, Kaleigh stated, “I am excited to further my education and basketball career with the Bears.” Kaleigh has been playing basketball since she was in 1st grade. When Kaleigh received an offer from UCA in July of 2020, she was excited because her dreams were coming true. “I chose UCA because it wasn’t that far from home, and I felt a bond with the coaches and the school on my first visit.” Kaleigh said her goal while at UCA is to get her degree in general business and be the best player. She emphasized that she wants to make her name known. Kaleigh’s drive for basketball is unmatchable. She spends hours on and off the court preparing herself for the next game. “My mom motivates me to play,” Kaleigh says, “She puts so much money and time into basketball for me and I wouldn’t be here without her. I want to be the best I can be on this new journey so I can make her proud.” This is Kaleigh’s last year as a Jackrabbit, and she hopes that when she leaves the underclassmen follow their dreams, just as she did. “Always stay focused and don’t pay attention to the distractions or people who have doubts in you. Don’t lose your confidence, and keep pushing yourself to do better.” Kaleigh Thompson can’t wait to finish high school as a rabbit and begin college as a UCA Bear. Congratulations, Kaleigh!
