Christmas Food Drive

Lonoke High School clubs are giving back!

Sarah Hester

As the holidays are quickly approaching, Lonoke High School’s JROTC, FBLA, and FCA are partnering together for a holiday service project. The clubs are collecting canned food and non-perishable food items to donate to the Arkansas Food Bank. Their goal is to collect at least 300 items! Everyone and anybody can donate items, this includes students and faculty. Students can earn community service hours for donations. Community service hours will be calculated based on the value of the items donated and will be given at the end of the food drive. Donations can be taken to Mrs. Stivers’ or Mrs. Graham’s classroom. The Christmas Food Drive will accept items through December 17, 2021. Food banks all over struggle to keep food stocked during the holiday season. Every and all donations are greatly appreciated and will help people all over the state of Arkansas. Don’t forget to give back to those in need this holiday season!

Below are some items that the food bank is in great need of. Any donations are highly appreciated!

-Any canned food items (canned meat, fruit, veggies, instant gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, soup, etc.)

-Boxed items (mac n’ cheese, mashed potatoes, cornbread/stuffing mix, etc.)

-Any non-perishable food items (peanut butter, jelly, cereal, oatmeal, pasta/rice, etc.)
